Barbara Bui is described as a mix of "rock energy" and femininity, with a focus on tailoring and detailed finishing. She started het first boutique Kabuki in 1983 at Rue de Turbigo where she sold her first own designs. In 1987 she launched het own label at PFW and after this catwalk show her name became an international brand. In 2003 she joined the prestigious Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la mode.
