The Pauline is the classic pencil pants made off cotton stretch with piped side pockets, high waist with narrow, moderately long legs and small slits on the hem and a waist yoke in the back. So nothing can slip out when putting on and taking off. Pauline sometimes needs a little "gentle force" the very first timers you put it on, but it works without a zipper.
